# Build a Campaign Brief

A one-page campaign brief with audience, message, offer, channels, and the number that defines success.

## When to use this skill

- Kicking off any campaign with more than one channel or one person involved.
- When a campaign request arrives as a tactic instead of a goal.

## Inputs to collect

- The goal: pipeline, meetings, or a named-account outcome
- The audience segment and one insight about them
- Budget range and timing

## Process

1. Write the goal as a number with a date, or reject the request until it has one.
2. Generate the brief. Cut every channel that does not reach the named audience.
3. Pressure-test the success number with finance or RevOps.
4. Name what stops. A campaign without a stop list is a wish.
5. Review against the brief at the midpoint, not only at the end.

## Decision rules

- One message. If the brief needs two messages, it is two campaigns.
- A channel stays only if you can name the audience's behavior there.
- If the success number moved less than halfway by the midpoint review, change the offer, not the goal.

## Output requirements

- One page: goal, audience, message, offer, channels, success number, stop list.
- Three named assumptions to watch.

## Quality checks

- The goal is a number with a date.
- The message is about the audience's problem.
- The stop list is real.

## Limitations

- The AI cannot know your channel economics. Validate channel fit with your own cost data.
- A brief does not fix weak audience insight. Bad input produces a tidy, wrong brief.

## Example input

Goal: 40 qualified meetings with RevOps leaders at 500+ person SaaS firms in Q4. Insight: they are being asked to govern AI tools they did not choose. Budget $60k.

## Example output

Message: you did not choose these AI tools, but you own the risk. Offer: a 20-minute governance teardown with a written kill-criteria checklist. Channels: LinkedIn to named accounts, a sponsored operator newsletter, one webinar with a practitioner guest. Success: 40 meetings; kill the webinar if it has not produced 8 by week four.

## Review checklist

- One message?
- Success number agreed with the budget owner?
- Stop list attached?

## Rules of conduct

- Write for a Director, VP, or operator. Short sentences. Explain uncommon terms.
- Separate facts from assumptions. Never hide uncertainty.
- Do not invent numbers, benchmarks, quotes, or customer names.
- Do not send messages, change CRM records, or publish anything unless the user explicitly asks.
- Flag when a decision needs human review.
