The short answer
What's in it for you: Aligned's Seller Agent inside the deal workspace, approval and source-link claims, and seven diligence clauses before an agent edit reaches the buyer.
Decision rule
Do not let an AI agent update a buyer-facing deal room without propose-then-apply, an exportable source log, and a named approver.
Operator action
This week: list every buyer-visible field in one live deal room, write the propose/approve/source/revert path on one page, and put the seven clauses below on the next beta addendum.

On October 14, 2026, Aligned announced Seller Agent, an AI agent built into its deal workspace. The company says the agent can rewrite content, update mutual action plans, pull case studies, and build decks and calculators from natural language, with every change proposed first and applied only after the rep approves. (GlobeNewswire / FinancialContent; product page)
If an agent can edit the room the buyer also opens, the diligence question is simple. Can you see the source, the approval, and the revert path before that edit reaches the customer?

What shipped (company-stated)
Per the Oct 14 release and the product page:
- Seller Agent sits inside the deal workspace. Aligned says it consults on the deal, executes bulk updates, automates follow-up after calls, and creates buyer-facing assets in the room.
- Aligned Brain feeds it. The company describes a continuous read of calls, emails, CRM updates, calendar events, and buyer actions inside the room so the agent does not start from a blank prompt each time.
- Approval and source links. Aligned says every change is proposed before it applies, linked to its source, and reversible in one click.
- Beta now; pricing later. Seller Agent is available in beta across all Aligned plans. Long-term pricing has not been announced.
- CRM stays for track and report. Aligned's product FAQ says Seller Agent does not replace the CRM. The CRM remains where teams track and report deals; the agent is framed as the execution layer between those check-ins.
- MCP path exists. Aligned also offers an MCP connection into assistants such as Claude and ChatGPT. That is a related permissions problem. See Sales AI MCP into ChatGPT and Claude.
Aligned says more than 70,000 revenue teams and 1 million monthly buyers use its platform. That is a reach claim for Aligned overall. No Seller Agent win-rate, cycle-time, or recommendation-approval results were published with the launch. Named customers in the About block (Deel, Ironclad, WordPress) are not Seller Agent case studies.
The Proof Gap
An agent that updates mutual action plans and buyer-facing pages can put a stale case study or the wrong next step in front of a customer in one move. Approval and source links are the floor.
| What the launch states | What a buyer still measures |
|---|---|
| Agent proposes; rep approves | Share of suggestions accepted, rejected, and corrected |
| Every change linked to a source | How often the source was wrong, stale, or on the wrong deal |
| One-click revert | How often revert runs after the buyer already saw the edit |
| Brain reads room signals | Which fields are buyer-visible vs internal-only |
| Beta across all plans | Seat, room, or action price when beta ends |
| Platform reach (70k teams / 1M buyers) | Seller Agent effect on next step, cycle, and win rate |
Seven diligence clauses before the buyer sees an agent edit
This is a checklist for legal, RevOps, and enablement to adapt. It is not legal advice.
- Propose-then-apply. Every agent edit waits for a named human role before the buyer-facing room updates.
- Source on every change. The change log shows which call, email, CRM field, or document drove the edit. Exportable.
- Revert and retention. One-click revert. Keep the pre-edit state long enough to reconstruct what the buyer saw.
- Approved corpus only. Case studies, pricing pages, and playbook language the agent may use are named. Off-list assets stay out.
- Pricing unit when beta ends. Seat, room, or agent action. Prepaid caps. Written notice before beta becomes billable.
- What the Brain reads. List systems and field classes. Mark buyer-visible vs internal. Sub-processor notice if assistant hosts sit on the MCP path.
- Continuity. What happens to room history and change logs if the agent, the workspace, or the MCP path changes terms.
Who owns which part
- CRO / sales leaders: who can approve an edit that changes dates, owners, or commitments the buyer sees.
- Enablement: which playbook steps and messaging the agent may recommend.
- RevOps: whether the mutual action plan in the room stays the working copy, and how it syncs back to CRM fields you report on.
- Marketing: which proof points and case studies are in the approved corpus.
- Customer success: the same approval rules on onboarding, QBR, and renewal rooms.
- Revenue finance: the unit you will pay when beta ends, and a cap on prepaid usage.
- Security / legal: retention of prompts, tool results, and buyer-visible artifacts.
These jobs show up the same way in insurance, manufacturing, professional services, and software. The room is shared with a buyer. The approval trail has to travel with every edit.
What to do this week
- Pick one live deal room (or the closest shared workspace you use today) and list every field the buyer can see.
- For any AI that can touch those fields, write the propose / approve / source / revert path in one page.
- Put the seven clauses above on the next order form or beta addendum before the vendor names a price.
A deal workspace can become the place where an agent drafts, a rep governs, and a buyer sees only what survived review. The test is the change log on a real deal, not the launch post.
Frequently asked questions
- Does Aligned say Seller Agent replaces the CRM?
- No. Aligned's product FAQ says the CRM remains where teams track and report deals. Seller Agent is described as an execution layer inside the deal workspace.
- Is pricing published?
- No. Seller Agent is in beta across all Aligned plans. Aligned says long-term pricing will be announced when it leaves beta. Put the unit of charge on the order form before you depend on it.
- What proof did Aligned publish for Seller Agent?
- None on win rate, cycle time, or suggestion-approval rates. The company published product behavior claims (propose, approve, source link, revert) and platform reach figures. Treat reach as reach.
- How is this different from an MCP connector into ChatGPT or Claude?
- Seller Agent runs inside the shared deal room the buyer can open. An MCP connector runs inside the assistant the rep uses. Both need scopes, audit, and human checkpoints. See the Sales AI MCP permissions audit post.
- What should Enablement lock down first?
- The approved corpus: case studies, pricing language, and playbook steps the agent may surface. Then the named approver for buyer-visible edits.
- What is the one metric to start with?
- Suggestion survival under review: accepted, rejected, corrected. Add source-error rate and post-buyer revert rate next.
