AI first drafts inside the marketing tools you already pay for (L1)

No new vendor. Use the AI already bundled in HubSpot, Canva, and Google Workspace to produce first drafts of social posts, email subject lines, and ad variants. Humans still edit and publish everything.

The steps

  1. 01

Write one brand prompt block and paste it everywhere

    Tool: ChatGPT

Capture voice, banned words, audience, and proof standards in one paragraph. Every draft request starts with that block. This is the cheapest quality control available. Owner: content lead. Pitfall: letting each person freelance their own prompt. You get five voices. DoD: the block lives in a shared doc and is linked in the content brief template.

  2. 02

    Draft variants, never final copy

    Tool: HubSpot

Use built-in AI for three subject line options and three post openings, then a human picks and rewrites. Publishing raw output is how a brand starts reading like everyone else. Owner: campaign owner. Pitfall: shipping unedited drafts to a list. Readers notice and unsubscribe. DoD: no asset publishes without a named human editor recorded in the task.

  3. 03

Keep a swipe file of what performed

    Tool: Google Workspace

Log the winning subject lines and hooks in a sheet with open and click rates. Feed the winners back into the prompt as examples. Owner: marketing ops. DoD: the sheet has at least ten scored examples before the next campaign cycle.

  4. 04

    Label AI-assisted assets internally

    Tool: Manual

Tag assets that started as AI drafts so you can compare performance later and answer legal questions honestly. Owner: marketing ops. DoD: an AI-assisted checkbox exists on the content tracker and is filled in.
