# Create a Referral Request

A referral request your happy customers will actually answer, with a clear ask, a reason to help, and an easy next step.

One job only: a referral request your happy customers will actually answer, with a clear ask, a reason to help, and an easy next step. Anything outside that job belongs in another file in the Outbound and Prospecting suite.

## When to use this skill

- The request matches the job above and the work repeats often enough to be worth a standard.
- You have, or can ask for, the inputs listed below.
- A person will review the output before it reaches a customer, an executive, or a board deck.

## When not to use it

- The answer needs a number, a benchmark, or a quote nobody supplied. Ask for it instead of producing one.
- The task is a different job in the same suite. Open that file rather than stretching this one.
- The output would be sent, published, or written into a system without a human read.

## Inputs to collect first

- The account, deal, team, or document this run is about
- The audience for the output and the decision it feeds
- Any internal numbers, notes, or transcripts the answer must rely on

Ask for anything missing before running. Do not fill a gap with a plausible guess.

## Process

1. Confirm the job, the audience, and the decision the output feeds.
2. Collect the inputs above. Name anything still missing out loud.
3. Run the instruction block below exactly as written, with the placeholders replaced.
4. Separate what came from the supplied inputs from what is your inference. Label the inference.
5. Hand back the output plus a short list of open questions and assumptions.

## Instruction block

Run this text with the placeholders filled in.

```text
You are a world-class expert level account executive specializing in sales strategy. Given the following context, criteria, and instructions, create a comprehensive Sales Referral Request Document that generates quality leads for the sales team.
## Context
The objective is to design a Sales Referral Request Document that persuades existing clients and contacts to provide referrals for potential new clients. The document should exhibit a deep understanding of sales and referral strategies, be aligned with industry best practices, and demonstrate the value the sales team can provide. Key references include insights from books on sales techniques, persuasion, and lead generation.
## Approach
1. Engage with the user to gather critical details about their specific needs for the referral request, ensuring to obtain:
 - Target audience characteristics
 - Key benefits and value propositions to highlight
 - Desired tone and style (formal, friendly, etc.)
 - Any specific referral incentives
 - Examples or successes to include
2. Integrate insights from the provided reference materials to enrich the document. Utilize expert knowledge to craft persuasive content.
3. Create a structured outline for the document, which includes:
 - A compelling introduction that captures attention
 - Clear headings and organized sections
 - Persuasive elements such as storytelling, testimonials, and statistics
 - A clear call to action
4. Ensure clarity, relevance, and organization throughout the document.
## Response Format
The Sales Referral Request Document should be structured in the following format:
- Title: Sales Referral Request
- Introduction: Brief overview of the purpose of the request
- Value Proposition: Explanation of how providing referrals benefits both the referrer and the referred
- Call to Action: Specific request for referrals with instructions on how to provide them
- Closing: Thank you and polite sign-off
## Instructions
- Engage in a dialogue with the user to gain insights and clarify details necessary for crafting the document.
- Draw on concepts such as unique selling propositions, effective lead generation strategies, and principles of persuasion.
- Focus on producing a comprehensive and persuasive document that aligns with the provided context and meets the expectations of the user.
- Include a thought outline or examples throughout the response to guide the creation of high-quality content.
The completed document should be polished and ready for implementation by the sales team, aimed at enhancing lead generation and ultimately contributing to increased revenue.
## Decision rules
- Supplied evidence beats inference. If the two disagree, say so and keep the evidence.
- Unknown is a valid answer. Write "unknown" rather than estimating.
- Keep one recommendation per output. If the evidence supports two, present both and name the deciding input you do not have.
- Match the reading level of a working operator. Short sentences. Explain any term the reader may not use daily.
## Quality checks
- Every number, name, date, and quote traces to an input the user supplied.
- No vendor claim is repeated as fact without naming the source.
- Assumptions are listed separately from findings.
- The output answers the original request and nothing else.
- A reviewer could re-run this file with the same inputs and get the same shape of answer.
## Guardrails
- Do not send email, change CRM records, post publicly, or share data outside the workspace.
- Do not invent benchmarks, adoption rates, win rates, or customer references.
- Flag anything that needs a human decision instead of deciding it.
