When Agents Call ZoomInfo Over MCP, Which Line Burns: Bulk Data Credits or AI Action Credits?

Replit and other chat/coding surfaces now reach ZoomInfo over MCP on the same credit pools as the web app and API. Map bulk vs AI action vs free tools, the bulk-credits gate, RUM, and Order Form controls before you enable MCP across surfaces.

Why trust this analysis?

The short answer

When our agents call ZoomInfo over MCP from Replit, Claude, Copilot Studio, or ChatGPT, which line burns (bulk data credits or AI Action Credits) and what must be on the Order Form before we enable MCP across surfaces?

MCP is included at no extra fee but burns existing pools. Bulk data credits: Enrich (Companies, Contacts, Company Signals) plus audience ingest (Upsert Audience / Manage Audience Rows). AI action credits: Account Research, Contact Research, Conversation Intelligence (minimum 9), Audience Analysis (~5-15 typical). Free: Search, Lookup, Find Similar, Recommended Contacts. MCP requires bulk data credits (not recurring monthly). No cost preview before a tool call. RUM is 12 months at org level. Copilot viewing contact data is not MCP enrich (MCP enrich is export-equivalent into AI context). Replit = interactive research only (no bulk export / CRM write via MCP). Press claim: 100 free AI credits on first MCP connect = press only until AE confirms. Put credit type, tool×surface map, per-user caps, Data Credit + AI Credit dashboards, and kill path on the Order Form.

Decision rule

Refuse MCP enablement on monthly-only credits. Fund bulk first. Name AI action pool for Research. List which hosts may call which tool class. Soft-open the 100 free AI credits press claim until AE confirms.

Evidence

  • gtm.ai/docs/mcp/credits (21 Sep 2026): two credit types; free tools; MCP requires bulk not recurring monthly; RUM 12 mo org-level; no cost preview; admin per-user limits; Copilot view is not MCP enrich
  • pipeline.zoominfo.com MCP server: included no extra cost; same pools; read-only; surfaces; MCP vs API; bulk credits required
  • Business Wire via Finviz (24 Sep 2026): Replit live; surfaces list; 100 free AI credits first-time connect claim; interactive research only
  • Sales Tech Edition (27 Sep 2026): Replit marketplace; surfaces; read-only interactive research

Operator action

This week: confirm bulk (not monthly) on the Order Form, map tool classes to allowed surfaces, set per-user caps, and name Data Credit + AI Credit dashboards plus a kill path before you enable MCP on Replit, Claude, Copilot Studio, or ChatGPT.

When Agents Call ZoomInfo Over MCP, Which Line Burns: Bulk Data Credits or AI Action Credits?

Replit went live with ZoomInfo MCP on 24 Sep 2026 (Business Wire via Finviz). That puts ZoomInfo inside coding and chat surfaces while finance still models seats. The same credit pools as the web app and API apply. MCP is not a free add-on meter.

Two lines (docs, 21 Sep 2026; HIGH confidence)

Per gtm.ai/docs/mcp/credits:

  • Bulk data credits: Enrich (Companies, Contacts, Company Signals) plus audience ingest (Upsert Audience / Manage Audience Rows). View usage in Admin Portal > Usage > Data Credit Dashboard.
  • AI action credits: Account Research, Contact Research, Conversation Intelligence, Audience Analysis. Most calls cost about 5 to 15 credits. Conversation Intelligence has a minimum of 9. View usage in Admin Portal > Usage > AI Credit Dashboard.
  • Free: Search, Lookup, Find Similar, Recommended Contacts. Defining audience structure columns is free; credits apply when records are ingested or enriched.

MCP is included with ZoomInfo subscriptions at no extra fee (pipeline.zoominfo.com MCP server page). Usage still burns those existing pools.

MCP credit path decision tree: free Search/Lookup vs bulk data Enrich (+ RUM 12 mo org) vs AI action Research (~5-15; CI min 9). Hard gate = bulk data credits required, not recurring monthly.
MCP credit path: free vs bulk data vs AI action. Hard gate = bulk required, not recurring monthly.

Hard gate

MCP requires bulk data credits. It does not work with recurring monthly credits. If the account is monthly-only, do not flip MCP on across surfaces until bulk is funded. Contact your ZoomInfo admin or AE if you are unsure which credit type is on the paper.

Unit is not the bill

  • There is no cost preview before a tool call.
  • Records Under Management (RUM): enrich once, free again within 12 months, tracked at the organization level across surfaces (any user, any ZoomInfo surface).
  • Viewing contact data in ZoomInfo Copilot does not consume bulk credits. Enriching via MCP does. MCP enrich is export-equivalent into the AI tool's context.

Replit scope and surfaces

Replit MCP is interactive research only. No bulk export and no CRM write-back via MCP (Business Wire Sep 24; Sales Tech Edition Sep 27). Surfaces named in press and the pipeline page include Slack, Agentforce, HubSpot Breeze, Copilot Studio, Claude, ChatGPT, Replit, plus others listed on the MCP server page (Perplexity, Cursor, Gemini Enterprise, and more).

Press claim (soft-open)

Business Wire says first-time MCP connect gets 100 free AI credits. That is a press claim, not a confirmed Order Form entitlement until your AE puts it on paper. Do not budget it as contracted without AE confirm.

Order Form checklist before you enable MCP

  1. Credit type on the Order Form: bulk data credits vs recurring monthly. MCP needs bulk.
  2. Tool classes × surfaces: which hosts may call Search (free), Enrich (bulk), Research (AI action).
  3. Per-user caps: Admin Portal can set bulk and AI action limits per user; those limits apply over MCP.
  4. Chargeback dashboards: Data Credit Dashboard + AI Credit Dashboard, keyed to who called which tool class.
  5. Kill path: who can disable MCP / connectors per user if burn runs hot.
  6. Accepted-outcome meter: if missing, treat as a Proof Gap. Soft-open any unconfirmed SKU strings.
Surface × tool class × credit line matrix for Slack, Agentforce, HubSpot Breeze, Copilot Studio, Claude, ChatGPT, Replit. Shared MCP path: Search free; Enrich burns bulk + RUM; Research burns AI Action. PRESS soft-open: 100 free AI credits on first MCP connect.
Surface × tool class × credit line for Order Form mapping. PRESS soft-open: 100 free AI credits on first MCP connect (AE confirm before budgeting).

Who reviews which line (Eight-Seat lite)

  • RevOps / GTM eng: tool × surface map, connector enablement, kill path.
  • Sales: which Research and Enrich calls reps and agents actually run on Replit, Claude, Copilot Studio, ChatGPT.
  • Revenue Finance: bulk vs monthly on the paper; AI action pool size; chargeback to BU.
  • Enablement: train free Search/Lookup first; gate Enrich and Research until caps and dashboards exist.
