Wait, Buy, or What to Ask the Salesforce AE Before Dreamforce?
Claudeforce / Salesforce in Claude is open beta for all customers as of Dreamforce day 1 (Sep 15, 2026). Still no GA, no list price, dual-path with Agentforce. Four questions to put to the Salesforce AE in writing.

The short answer
Is Claudeforce generally available?
Evidence
- The same question, four different answers Enterprise AI is paying off for 5% of companies, or 74%, depending on the question asked. None of the four publishers is wrong.
- Do we have to upgrade Salesforce editions to buy Claudeforce? Miguel Milano and Marc Benioff said on the Q2 FY27 earnings call that customers who want Claudeforce move to premium editions. That is call commentary, not a published SKU or price list. Get the edition requirement from your AE in writing before you budget it.

Claudeforce is not a model story. It is a packaging story sitting on top of a dirty-CRM story.
Salesforce and Anthropic announced the partnership on 26 August 2026, the same afternoon as Salesforce's Q2 FY27 earnings. The first product is Salesforce in Claude: a plugin with prebuilt sales skills. Actions route through Salesforce. An admin connects once. Named skills you can treat as real today are meeting prep, deal health review, and pipeline review. Everything else on the skill list stays unsigned until Salesforce publishes it.
The argument

Source: salesforce.com/news/stories/aiforce-announcement.
Status, from the AIforce announcement: open beta for all customers as of 15 September 2026. Still not GA. No published list price. No published Flex Credit rate or edition gate. Dual-path with Agentforce, not a replacement. Dreamforce demo window is 15 to 17 September 2026 in San Francisco.
That is what a Director+, RevOps lead, enablement lead, or founder can put in writing without inventing a ship date.
Decision frame
Wait or buy is a function of switching cost and urgency
A decision frame, not a vendor recommendation. Schematic, not a dataset. Source-cited charts live in the research library.
Wait or buy is a function of switching cost and urgency. Diagram showing Switching cost, Urgency of the problem, Buy now, Pilot narrowly, Wait, Do nothing yet.The premium tax, not the model
On the Q2 FY27 earnings call, Miguel Milano said every customer will be able to buy Claudeforce, and they will have to upgrade to premium editions. Marc Benioff said the same later on the call: if you want Claudeforce, you move to the premium edition.
That is call commentary. It is not a price list. It is not in the press release. Do not flatten it to a named SKU. Edition bundles discussed on the same call are not the Claudeforce SKU until Salesforce says so on a product page or an order form.
Milano also said only about 5 percent of sales and service knowledge workers sit on higher-end editions, and those carry a 60 to 80 percent premium. Again: earnings call, not a published package. Your AE may still treat it like one. Your CFO will ask why Salesforce got more expensive to put Claude on pipeline. That question is rational. Answer it with the transcript, not with a vendor slide.
Beta vs GA bait
The 15 September 2026 AIforce announcement says Salesforce in Claude / Claudeforce is available to all customers in beta, after being piloted by companies like Deloitte, GitLab, and Legora. Aggregators will flatten that to GA. It is not GA until a primary source says GA.
Enablement, RevOps, and founders will hear the Dreamforce pitch as if it is buyable tomorrow. Two failure modes sit next to each other. You look late to the CEO. Or you buy a demo.
Open beta for all customers as of 15 September 2026. GA is unsigned until a primary source publishes it. That sentence is the whole filter.
Dual path means you can already be paying twice
If you already bought Agentforce, Flex Credits, or a higher-end Salesforce edition, Claudeforce does not replace that spend. It sits beside it. Meeting prep, deal health, and pipeline review sound like work you already paid RevOps, Gong, or an AI SDR to do. Marketing, CS, and partner clouds are still Coming Soon on the product page. Do not budget as if the first sales plugin is the whole GTM surface.
This is the same pattern we documented in the AI reinvestment gap: same tools, wildly different outcomes, almost always because the structural decision about where humans go and where AI goes never got written down.
Headless does not forgive dirty CRM
Benioff's line on the call was blunt: if the data isn't right, the AI isn't right. Claudeforce on a lying pipeline is a prettier lie. Sellers living in Claude while Salesforce stays the system of record is workable only if hygiene, permissions, and write-back are explicit.
We already framed that architecture problem in The Headless GTM Stack: the UI becomes optional, trust does not. Hosted MCP for Claude and Salesforce is GA on Enterprise+ as of 29 April 2026. It is analyst-in-chat. It has no event triggers. It is not an agent-on-lead. Scaling DIY MCP into production because AEs already live in Claude is the wrong move while Claudeforce itself is open beta, not production-GA.
Four questions to put to the Salesforce AE in writing
These are the operator jobs for the next two weeks. Not a feature tour.
- Slackbot first, if Slack is Business+ or Enterprise+. Slackbot is a buy-nothing seller copilot on those tiers. It is not on Pro. Slack is not bundled with CRM. Turn it on before you buy another surface.
- Do not scale DIY Claude MCP into prod. Hosted MCP is already GA on Enterprise+. Claudeforce plugin is still pilot. DIY MCP that works for three AEs is not a production path.
- Do not assume Claude is the Agentforce org default. Live docs still show Salesforce Default (GPT mix). Claude preferred inside the trust boundary for regulated industries is a 14 October 2025 story. It is not Claude as default for all Agentforce.
- Get the AE in writing on four fields: Claudeforce beta date, edition required, who bills (Salesforce vs Anthropic), and how Flex Credits apply. Verbal Dreamforce demos do not survive a CFO review.
Wait, buy, or what
Wait on a signed edition and price. There is no published Claudeforce list price. There is no published SKU name for the premium upgrade. Buying a packaging story from a demo floor is how you pay twice.
Beta is not GA, and open beta for all customers is still not production sign-off. Named skills that help sellers prepare and inspect deals are useful. They are not a new CRM. They do not fix stage definitions, next-step hygiene, or forecast categories that already lie. Run them only if the CRM is clean enough to trust.
Ask the AE the four questions above before Dreamforce, in writing. Dreamforce is a demo machine. It is not a ship date.
Two contracts and two meters are the procurement half of this decision: the two-contracts, two-meters procurement decoder.
That is the decoder. Premium tax. Dirty CRM. Dual path. Four questions. No invented GA. No invented price. No invented customers.

- Does Claudeforce replace Agentforce?
- No. Salesforce positions Claudeforce as dual-path with Agentforce, not a replacement. If you already pay for Agentforce or Flex Credits, treat Claudeforce as an additional surface until packaging says otherwise in writing.
- Should we scale DIY Claude-to-Salesforce MCP while we wait?
- No. Hosted MCP is already GA on Enterprise+ (29 April 2026). Claudeforce itself is open beta for all customers as of 15 September 2026, not GA. DIY MCP that works for a few AEs is not a production path, and it does not create event-triggered agent behavior.
- Is Claude now the default model for Agentforce?
- No. Live Salesforce docs still list Salesforce Default (a GPT mix) as the org default. Claude preferred inside the Agentforce trust boundary for regulated industries dates to 14 October 2025. That is not org-default for everyone.
- What should we ask the Salesforce AE before Dreamforce?
- Ask four things in writing: the Claudeforce beta date, the edition required, who bills (Salesforce vs Anthropic), and how Flex Credits apply. If Slack is Business+ or Enterprise+, turn on Slackbot first as a buy-nothing seller copilot.

Agentforce Pricing Explained: Credits, Licenses, and Total Cost
Agentforce is not one price. It is a stack of editions, entitlements, meters, and platform costs that only resolve into a number once you know which product you are buying. Here is how to work out which one you are looking at, and which question to ask next.
Reality Check
What Are Salesforce Core, Advanced, and Max Editions, and How Many Flex Credits Does Each Include?
On Sep 3, 2026 Salesforce published Core ($195), Advanced ($395), and Max ($550) per user/month for Agentforce Sales and Service, with org-level Flex Credit pools of 500,000 / 1 million / 2.75 million. Credits do not scale per seat. Legacy edition pricing stays for existing customers; Agentforce 1 can move to Max at no extra seat price.
